Welcome to MedPort (accessible at medport.uk, "the Site"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your", or "the User") and MedPort Technologies Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17284812), whose registered office is at 88 Whateley Crescent, Birmingham, England, B36 0DP ("MedPort", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the MedPort platform and all related services (together, "the Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookies Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create an account or use the Service.

1. Purpose and Scope of the Service

1.1 MedPort provides a digital platform enabling medical students and junior doctors to record, organise, and maintain a portfolio of evidence relating to their professional development, including but not limited to research, clinical experience, and education.

1.2 The Service is provided solely for personal educational and professional record-keeping purposes. MedPort is a record-keeping tool only and does not provide clinical, legal, financial, career, or professional advice of any kind, and nothing in the Service should be relied upon as such.

1.3 MedPort does not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information you record on the platform. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of your own portfolio and for meeting any requirements set by your employer, deanery, royal college, or regulatory body (including the General Medical Council).

2. Eligibility and Accounts

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to create an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to request proof of age or eligibility and to suspend or terminate any account where we reasonably believe this requirement has not been met, without liability to you.

2.2 You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep such information up to date.

2.3 You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorised by you. You must notify us immediately at admin@medporttechnologies.com if you become aware of any unauthorised access to or use of your account.

2.4 We reserve the right to refuse registration, or to suspend or terminate any account, at our reasonable discretion, including (without limitation) where we suspect fraud, misuse, breach of these Terms, or a risk to the security or integrity of the Service.

3. Paid Plans and Billing

3.1 MedPort offers a free tier ("Basic") and a paid subscription tier ("Pro"). The current price of the Pro plan is £9.99 per year, or such other price as we may notify to you from time to time before renewal.

3.2 Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., an independent third-party payment processor. Your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe and is not stored by MedPort. Use of Stripe's services is subject to Stripe's own terms and privacy policy, and MedPort is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or systems of Stripe.

4. Uploading and Data Ownership

4.1 You may upload documents, certificates, or other materials ("User Content") to track your progress.

4.2 You retain full ownership and rights over your uploaded content.

4.3 By uploading, you grant MedPort a limited licence to store and display your content within your personal account for the purpose of providing the Service.

4.4 Your content remains private to you. Pro subscribers may export their portfolio as DOCX (CV export) or CSV files at any time.

4.5 You must not upload any material that identifies a patient or contains confidential patient information. MedPort is designed exclusively for recording your own professional development, and uploaded content must not breach patient confidentiality, data protection law, or your professional obligations (e.g. GMC guidance).

4.6 You are responsible for ensuring that any uploaded material does not infringe the rights of others.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Data is securely stored using Supabase, with certain media/file assets stored via Firebase Storage, and the website is hosted and processed via Vercel.

5.2 While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5.3 In the unlikely event of a data breach, users will be notified in accordance with UK data protection law.

5.4 We do not sell your data to third parties. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle personal data, and our Cookies Policy for details on cookies and analytics.

6. Acceptable Use

6.1 You agree not to upload unlawful, offensive, or harmful material.

6.2 You agree not to upload any patient-identifiable or otherwise confidential third-party information.

6.3 You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to MedPort's systems.

6.4 You agree not to use MedPort for commercial or competitive purposes other than personal portfolio management.

6.5 Violation of this policy may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 All website content, design, and code are the intellectual property of MedPort Technologies Limited unless otherwise stated.

7.2 You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

8. Disclaimer

8.1 MedPort is provided "as is" and "as available".

8.2 We make no guarantees that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.

8.3 MedPort does not provide professional, clinical, legal, or career advice and does not verify the accuracy of user-uploaded information.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, income, or opportunity arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

9.2 Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you have paid for your MedPort subscription in the preceding 12 months.

9.3 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

10.1 You may close your account at any time.

10.2 We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service.

10.3 Upon termination, your stored data will be deleted in line with our data retention policy, as set out in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

11.1 We may update these Terms periodically.

11.2 Material changes will be notified via email or on the website.

11.3 Continued use of MedPort after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

12.1 These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

12.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
